RMC Heritage Wave Denim Shorts (RMCSJ-12)
RMC Jeans the Heritage Wave Denim Shorts (RMCSJ-12), developed from our iconic Model 002.
Crafted in Kojima, Japan, these shorts are made from 12oz Kurabo Japanese selvedge denim, woven with premium USA cotton. The fabric is dyed using a specially developed extra-dark indigo shade, achieving a deeper, richer tone than conventional indigo denim while maintaining the authentic fading characteristics that denim enthusiasts appreciate.
Both the warp and weft yarns are spun from coarse raw cotton using a traditional high-twist spinning technique, creating a firm, rugged texture with a naturally uneven surface. The yarn core is engineered with a larger white center, allowing the indigo to fade more dramatically over time. Even as shorts, the RMCSJ-12 delivers exceptional high-contrast fading and beautiful aging.
The signature RMC back pockets are created by first cutting the denim fabric and then sewing a layer of patchwork fabric underneath. This unique construction produces the iconic layered wave design and distinctive three-dimensional texture.
As the shorts are worn, the exposed denim yarns along the cut edges naturally fade and wear, developing a beautifully distressed vintage character. With every fade and every crease, they tell their own story—crafted with soul, made to be lived in.
The shorts feature solid copper buttons, vintage copper coin-style rivets, and premium hardware that match the specifications of our full-length jeans. Designed for denim enthusiasts who appreciate authentic construction and lasting quality, the RMCSJ-12 is built to age beautifully with every wear.
